We teach about standing on three legs not two . Technical, Creative and Commercial. Not entirely complimentary those three. It takes a really well developed person to hold all in their hands with equal competence. We had Jonathan from Bark furniture in here last week talking about different clients and how they needed handing very differently. Private clients, galleries, collectors, interior decorators and architects, and public space commissioners. All can give you work all need different ways to market.

So its great to see a former Rowden student hitting one of those specific markets so effectively. Christian O Reilly was a student here seven years ago now and has run a successful business based in Devon since then .

These are pieces that his workshop has recently made for York Museum . Lovely pieces that answer the brief beautifully are made cleverly and efficiently
