Dividers.
These are absolutely critical tools that are an essential part of a makers tool kit. So much of good design is generated with these simple tools. However they must have very sharp points . Old cheap dividers off e-bay can do the job but these Starrett dividers are the very best we know about. They have needle like points that will damage easily but are super accurate. You need this accuracy to do what we have in mind. Having a divider that is not really accurate is like having a square that is not square
