One of the things that we ask students to do is to make furniture under our supervision for their own clients. This does three things. It helps to teach the process of designing, costing and presenting an idea to a client. It gives the student a real world viewpoint of furniture making and finally it gives the student confidence that people will pay real money for what they are making. Oh it also puts money in the pocket, or it should do. This shows a dining table and two benches made recently by Tim Smith for a client.
