Lakshmi Bhaskaran was already a successful design journalist when she joined the one year course here just over eight months ago. Her objective was to learn to do herself what she had been writing about for so long. Having completed all of our technical tasks that we give new students to teach them good working skills, Lakshmi wanted to design and make a new piece for her mother. This was to be an occasional table in Rosewood. Just finished, I think this is a stunning first piece of work and would be a credit to a seasoned professional.
