Andrew Varah is one of the most well respected designers and makers of contemporary furniture working today. He has kindly consented on Saturday June 24th to give a one day seminar to our students and a small audience of invited guests and fellow designers and makers. The aim of the day will be to enable Andrew to share his considerable experience of running a very successful small commercial workshop. Also to enable us to gather inspiration and understanding from a furniture designer maker of unquestioned repute. Andrew employs five makers and has built a reputation of being able to service a world wide client base with a creative response and professional efficiency. His talk will show the development of his work over twenty five years, knowing him as I do I hope and believe that he will engage our audience in a provocative and challenging manner. I aim that this will be the first of a series of seminars where skilled practitioners within our field share their ideas aims and beliefs with a new generation of young furniture designers and makers
