Thomas Chippendale
Designing and making Perseus; remembering the ribbon back chairs of Thomas Chippendale has encouraged me to go back and find photographs of this great maker’s work. Most of it is locked away behind a photographer’s copyright. I can see a tiny thumbnail of the piece I want to examine. To have access I have to pay a quite considerable amount. I’ve done this, so here’s a taster of great stuff to come. Anyone know of great photos of genuine Chippendale or Hepplewhite or Sheraton?
