Unique “Aero desk” and “Driver” chair, exhibited at NEC

Matt Rodgers who finished his course here in the summer is not letting the grass grow under his feet. Quickly he exhibited his beautiful “Aero Desk” developed at Rowden, together with “Drivers Seat” a new chair design that evolved from Matt’s involvement in Formula 1 racing car design. Both pieces were shown to the public for the first time at Furniture 2008, a major exhibition at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham.  Made in English cherry wood veneers and solids this complex piece of work is a considerable achievement for a relative newcomer to furniture design and furniture making. I take my hat off to him.Matt’s work can be seen at Matts website    matts desk in cherrywoodmatts desk in english cherry wooddetail of matts desk in english cherrywood?
