Taking Products to Market
In keeping with our policy of constant improvement and innovation we have engaging Jonathan Walter and Lakshmi Bhaskaran of Bark Furniture to work with us. Jonathan and Lakshmi will focus on helping students, probably students in the latter part of the course, with taking product to market.
Before becoming furniture designer makers both had different careers Jonathan as an accountant for a famous city company and Lakshmi as a prominent design journalist. Complimentary skills that have made a formidable team capable with PR branding and market awareness
What is your brand, how do you develop it, and if you don’t know, where do you start? How will you take your pieces to market, who is your market? How do you know what they want and what they will pay?
I never had answers to these kind of questions when I began , I didn’t even know how to ask the questions. These guys will help our students survive in a tough commercial world. These are skills that will save our students time, money, and heart ache. And help them survive where others have fallen.
These guys are experienced designer makers that have done it all before with a great company that they built together called Bark Furniture. Now they are bringing their experience to Rowden and we are very very proud to have them with us.
